Background:

:Industrial powder coatings are 100% solid coatings that are based on formulations composed of thermoset resins, curing agents, fillers, pigments and other additives

Fillers can provide a positive technical function in powder coatings by reducing sag, by providing reinforcement, by reducing UV degradation, by improving moisture resistance and by improving corrosion resistance. Both decorative and functional powder coatings can successfully utilize functional fillers.

Expected Observations:

Wollastonite with low to moderate aspect ratio (i.e. 5:1 and 9:1) would provide superior appearance with very good flow properties. Gloss control is generally the first observation. Wollastonite can be used to substitute for part of the hardener to create flattening. When trying to preserve high gloss, wollastonite may not be recommended.

Wollastonite and mica can be used to create special effects and in some cases surface treatment chemistries can be applicable.

Final determination of the suitability of the material for the use contemplated is the sole responsibility of the user. Manufacturer's only obligation shall be to replace such quantity of the product proven to be defective.
